Information for Architects

The Checkpoint Home Plan Distribution System puts your designs in front of your customers. A poster dislpay rack is placed in your local Building Supply Store. Your plans are made available to builders who frequently visit the store to pick up supplies. And by including your contact information, those builders may wish to hire you for additional design work such as additions, renovations, or custom home design.

Checkpoint has developed a unique system which makes copyright protection a seperate entity. Proof of purchase is required while applying for a building permit. That's the Checkpoint. If one or two plans were purchased, then the builder is interested in studying the plans. Eight plans are typically required for building. The additional copies are distributed to the Plumber, Electician, Heating Tech, etc.
No matter how many copys are presented to the Building Official, the voucher will reveal the buyer's intentions.

Checkpoint is recruiting some of the finest architects and home designers. We are especially interested in those with a portfolio of original home plans which meet AIBD requirements.
Even if you sell home plans in magazines or on the internet, featuring your work in the Checkpoint display connects you with your customers, so you can serve their needs directly.

Ask your local building supply store about adding a Checkpoint dispay today.

Here's how we put your drawings in our display.

First, we print and individually wrap your plans.

Then we put your plans at your customer's fingertips, in building supply stores.
Home plans must be at 1/4"=1'0" scale, and arranged to fit on architectural D size paper (22"x34")
Drawings must be in build-ready format. Incomplete drawings or drawings marked "not for construction" will not be accepted.
Checkpoint's border includes instructions regarding purchasing and copyright protection information.
Contributing architects must add their own title block above the checkpoint disclaimer.

Also, an artist's rendering of the house must be submitted. The rendering is to be 22" wide and 34" high. The three major components of the rendering are shown in the picture below.

To get started, download the Checkpoint Border here.

Then email your design and rendering to architects@checkpointplans.com.
You will be billed for the initial printing fees. The amount may vary depending on the complexity of the design and number of pages in each set.

Then monthly payments are just $39.99 per slot.
