Checkpoint Plans was created in 2006, when Residential Designer, R.L. Shafer decided to create and sell a portfolio of original home designs.
Instead of setting up a distribution website and taking orders, his idea was to put home plans at your fingertips, and sell them in building supply stores.
He began with a simple exhibit which allowed the customers to see his work, and make a purchase or call him directly.
The response was immediate, and surprising.
Builders began to buy his plans, but more called to request custom work.
This was better advertising than the newspaper, phone book, and even radio.
It worked so well, he decided to convert the system into an advertising medium, and offer display space to other architects.
The exhibit is easy to set up in any building supply store, and you may soon see one near you.
